Adalberto Javier Ramones Martínez (Monterrey, Nuevo León, born December 3, 1961), known by his stage name Adal Ramones, is a presenter, actor and producer Mexican television network, who has also worked as a content creator, writer and stage director.

In addition to his late show Otro roll, he has hosted: Dancing for a dream, Singing for a dream, Teletón México, and La Academia among many others.

Television

He began his experience in television as a director of commercials, as well as children's programs such as Qué clowns, El Espacio de Cositas, Valores Juveniles and Christmas Parade with the Stars.[citation required]

Another roll with: Adal Ramones (1995-2007)

Another roll managed to be one of the most watched late-night entertainment programs in Mexico, after those that Verónica Castro hosted in the mid-1990s on the same television network (for example, Bad night... no!). This late show type program was born as a low-budget project for cable television in the City of Puebla in July 1995. Due to its success, in May 1999 it was invited to another channel from the same television station, Channel 5, on open television, in prime time and with a larger budget.

The program was attended by internationally famous artists and personalities, including: Coldplay, Don Francisco, Bon Jovi, Chayanne, Britney Spears, Sylvester Stallone, Fernando Colunga, Maná, Christina Aguilera, José Luis Perales, Cristian Castro, Gloria Trevi, Ricky Martin, Rocío Dúrcal, Fey, 'N Sync, Backstreet Boys, Ricardo Arjona, Jaguares,Daddy Yankee, Elán, Westlife, Elton John, Will Smith, Shakira, Juanes, Salma Hayek, Luis Miguel, Miguel Bosé, Yuri, Thalía, Robbie Williams, Mónica Naranjo, Diego Armando Maradona, Gloria Gaynor, t.A.T.u., Jaime Maussan, Paul Van Dyk, Arnold Schwarzenegger, MDO, among others.

The last broadcast was attended by the president of the Televisa group Emilio Azcárraga Jean and news presenter Joaquín López-Dóriga was linked to the program from his newscast for the entire Mexican Republic on channel 5 and Channel 2. In addition, a telephone call with the then President of the Republic Felipe Calderón Hinojosa (2006-2012), who thanked the host for having provided entertainment to viewers. The late show was broadcast for the last time on May 8, 2007.

For several years there was speculation about the possible return of the late show, but it was not until 2014, when the host himself confirmed that "Otro Rollo" He would not return to television, however he would return with a new talkshow.

2005-2015

In 2005 he hosted the first and second editions of Bailando por un Sueño and in 2006 Cantando por un Sueño and Los reyes de la pista, along with Liza Echeverría.

After Otro Rollo, in 2007, he starred in the comedy series ¿And now what do I do? which did not obtain a great response from the public and was canceled the same year.

Between 2007 and 2009 he participated in Sesame Street as himself.

In 2008 he was a presenter with Patricia Manterola of the program El show de los Sueños: Sangre de mi sangre.

In 2010 he hosted the program Décadas, along with Alan Tacher. Broadcast on Sundays on the Canal de las Estrellas, which was taken off the air due to low viewership and very severe criticism from the national press.

Between 2013 and 2014 he had a recurring character in the series Sr. Ávila produced by HBO Latin America.

In March 2014, Ramones confirmed that the program "Otro Rollo" He would not return to television, however he would return with a new Saturday talkshow called "Adal, El show" and that it would begin to be broadcast in August of the same year, after the 2014 Soccer World Cup. However, on September 10, 2014, he confirmed its cancellation due to budget problems but assured that both he and the executives were trying to reach an agreement.

In 2015 Ramones appeared at the Puebla Fair where he said in a press conference that he was fine-tuning the final details with Televisa for what would be his new program. “An idea is brewing, Televisa already asked me for it, a week ago they spoke to me again to tell me, present us the budget. I already sent them to them, and I believe, yes, the return of your servant is being prepared.” He ruled out that the production would return to the name Another Roll but stated that the content of his new project would be similar.

After the news was announced, the press used the name "Adal Ramones Regresa" a program that will be broadcast every Saturday at 10:00 p.m. through El Canal de las Estrellas. But this was never confirmed.

Adal The Show

On May 28, 2015, Adal Ramones announced his return to the small screen through Twitter, with "Adal Late Show".

During the month of August the program began to promote "Adal El Show" with a premiere date of August 29, 2015 on El Canal de las Estrellas and which would include capsules, interviews with various guests and live content.

It went off the air on April 16, 2016.

TV Azteca (2018)

In May 2018, he confirmed his arrival at TV Azteca to host La Academia in its great return, through the Azteca Uno channel. This return was a success for the reality show.

He hosted two successful seasons of The Academy, in 2018 and 2019.

Mexico Has Talent in 2019 was another success for the host, who in this project would return alongside Horacio Villalobos as a judge.

"DON'T don't do it" It was his third and last project that Adal Ramones would record on TV Azteca, it was recorded in 2020 and only lasted 5 weeks on air the same year.

Personal life

In 1998 he married Gaby Valencia, with whom he had two children, Paola Ramones Valencia and Diego Ramones Valencia. He divorced in 2013. On August 5, 2017 he married Karla de la Mora with whom he had a son Cristóbal Ramones de la Mora.

In December 2022, Ramones announced his wife's pregnancy, it will be the second child he has with her.

On May 18, 2023, his fourth child Cayetano Ramones de la Mora was born, becoming a father for the fourth time at the age of 61.

Awards and recognitions

In April 2015 it was announced that on May 27, 2015 Adal Ramones would enter the "Hispanic Humor Hall of Fame" that he would be established on a wall on the Paseo de las Artes in the city of Doral, being the first person to receive this recognition. The comedian's entry was postponed to September 26, 2016.

As a businessman, he has brought the La Bodeguita del Medio franchise to Costa Rica.

In Costa Rica, he played Malavassi, the antagonist of the film Maikol Yordan's Lost Journey, the highest-grossing film in the history of that country.[ citation required]
