Capacity refers to the resources or attitudes of an individual, entity or institution, to perform a certain task or task.

In more specific contexts, capacity can refer to the following concepts:

  • Volume that occupy the liquids and arids within a container. See also Capacity units.
  • Aerobic capacity: the ability of the body (heart, blood vessels and lungs) to function efficiently and carry sustained activities with little effort, little fatigue, and with rapid recovery (aerobic exercise).

  • Seat capacity: refers to the number of people who can sit in a place, in the terms of available space or the system of limitations by law. Also called aforo.
  • Channel capacity: refers to the ability of information that a communication channel can transport reliably, that is, with a probability of error as small as you want.
  • Population load capacity: is the capacity of an environment to sustain a species.
  • Dissemination capacity: determines the degree of effectiveness with which gas passes from alveolos to blood capillaries in a minute.
  • Capacity to work: refers to the legal quality of a natural person to validly perform certain legal acts.
  • Color representation capacity is a measure of how much a color space can be perceived under the lighting of a specific light.
  • Production capacity: is the maximum amount of product obtained from a process per unit of time.
  • Electrical capacity: is the property of a driver to store electric charge.
  • Legal capacity: refers to the legal ability to close certain acts, such as the conclusion of a contract.
  • Capacity port: it gives the resilient capacity of a field to support structures supported on it without losing stability.
  • Toxic capacity: is the capacity of an organism, an organic system or an ecosystem to support the introduction of a toxin.
  • High capacity sharing: is an ammunition feeding device for use in a firearm that can accommodate more than 10 rounds of ammunition.
