Career

As a player

As a coach

After his retirement from the playing fields he began his career as a coach. He began working as a goalkeeper coach, attached to the technical secretariat and became assistant coach of Club Atlético de Madrid, under the command of César Ferrando, in the 2004/05 season.

CF Ciudad de Murcia

In the 2005-06 season he made his debut as a coach directing CF Ciudad de Murcia. He managed to classify the team in 4th place in the Second Division, bordering on promotion, which he aspired to until the last day.

Levante UD

In the middle of the 2006/07 season, Abel Resino signed for Levante UD, a team that, paradoxically, had snatched promotion to the top category from Ciudad de Murcia by finishing 3rd in the previous season. Atletico de Madrid

Resino resigned as coach of Club Deportivo Castellón to lead Atlético de Madrid, whose bench had been left vacant after the dismissal of Javier Aguirre.
