Contenido Abaangüí or Avá Anguy is the god of the Moon of Guarani mythology. According to legend, Abaangui had a huge nose. He cut off his nose and threw it into the sky, and it became the Moon. In another version of the legend, Abaangui was the grandfather of the Guarayús and had two sons, each one of them shot an arrow up to the sky, where it remained fixed, then each one shot another arrow that entered the first one and they continued like this until they formed two chains that went from heaven to earth. The two sons of Abaangüí climbed up this chain until they reached the sky and there they stayed, transforming themselves into the sun and the moon.
