(9766) Bradbury is an asteroid belonging to the asteroid belt discovered on February 24, 1992 by the Spacewatch team from the Kitt Peak National Observatory, United States.

Designation and name

Bradbury was originally designated 1992 DZ2. Later, in 2000, it was named in honor of the American writer Ray Bradbury (1920-2012).

Orbital characteristics

Bradbury orbits at an average distance of 2,451 AU from the Sun, being able to get as close as 2,247 AU and as far as 2,655 AU. She has an eccentricity of 0.08329 and an orbital inclination of 1.277 degrees. It takes 1402 days to complete an orbit around the Sun. Bradbury's motion on the stellar background is 0.2568 degrees per day.
