(8308) Julie-Mélissa is an asteroid belonging to the asteroid belt discovered by Eric Walter Elst on April 17, 1996 from the La Silla Observatory, Chile.
Designation and name
Julie-Mélissa was initially designated as 1996 HD13. Later, in 1998, it was named after Belgian girls Julie Lejeune and Mélissa Russo, as a symbol of the suffering of abused children.
Orbital characteristics
Julie-Mélissa is located at an average distance from the Sun of 2,304 AU, being able to get as close as 1,919 AU and as far as 2.69 AU.
