(804) Hispania is an asteroid that forms part of the asteroid belt and was discovered by José Comas y Solá, director of the “Observatorio Fabra” on March 20, 1915 from the observatory of his home “ Villa Urania” in Barcelona, Spain.

Designation and name

Hispania was originally designated as 1915 WT. Later it was named after the old Roman name of Spain.

Orbital characteristics

Hispania is located at an average distance of 2,843 AU from the Sun, and can be as far away as 3,236 AU. It has an eccentricity of 0.1381 and an orbital inclination of 15.38°. It takes 1751 days to complete one orbit around the Sun.
