(76) Freia is an asteroid belonging to the outer asteroid belt discovered on October 21, 1862 by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest from the Copenhagen University Observatory in Denmark. It is named after Freyja, a goddess from Norse mythology.

Orbital characteristics

Freia is located at an average distance of 3.418 ua from the Sun, being able to get as close as 2.85 ua and as far away as 3.985 ua. It has an eccentricity of 0.1661 and an orbital inclination of 2.117°. It takes 2,308 days to complete one orbit around the Sun.
