(6433) Enya is an asteroid that is part of the asteroid belt and was discovered by Antonín Mrkos on November 18, 1978 from the Kleť Observatory near České Budějovice, Czech Republic.

Designation and name

Enya was initially designated as 1978 WC. Later, in 1997, it was named in honor of the Irish singer-songwriter Enya.

Orbital characteristics

Enya is located at an average distance from the Sun of 2,388 ua, being able to move away up to 2,907 ua and approach up to 1,868 ua. It has an eccentricity of 0.2175 and an orbital inclination of 8.626 degrees. It takes 1,348 days to complete one orbit around the Sun. Enya's movement on the stellar background is 0.2672 degrees per day.
