(6354) Vangelis is an asteroid belonging to the asteroid belt discovered by Eugène Joseph Delporte from the Royal Observatory of Belgium, in Uccle, on April 3, 1934.

Designation and name

Vangelis was originally designated as 1934 GA. Later, in 1995, it was named in honor of the Greek composer Vangelis.

Orbital characteristics

Vangelis is located at an average distance of 2,656 ua from the Sun, being able to move away up to 3,233 ua and approach up to 2,078 ua. It has an orbital inclination of 24.55 degrees and an eccentricity of 0.2175. It takes 1581 days to complete an orbit around the Sun. The movement of Vangelis on the stellar background is 0.2277 degrees per day.

Physical characteristics
