(62) Erato is an asteroid that is part of the asteroid belt and was discovered by Otto Leberecht Lesser and Wilhelm Julius Foerster on September 14, 1860 from the observatory in Berlin, Germany. It is named after Erato, a little god from Greek mythology.

Orbital characteristics
