(5951) Alicemonet is an asteroid that forms part of the asteroid belt and was discovered on October 7, 1986 by Edward L. G. Bowell from the Anderson Mesa Station in Flagstaff, United States.

Designation and name

Alicemonet was initially designated as 1986 TZ1. Later, in 1996, it was named in honor of the American astronomer Alice K. Monet.

Orbital characteristics

Alicemonet is located at an average distance of 2,197 AU from the Sun, being able to move away up to 2,677 AU and get closer to 1,716 AU. Its orbital inclination is 5.371 degrees and eccentricity 0.2188. It takes 1,189 days to complete one orbit around the Sun. Alicemonet's movement on the stellar background is 0.3027 degrees per day.
