• January 14: In Gansu (Central China) an earthquake of 5.5 degrees of Richter's seismic scale and a magnitude of 7 degrees is recorded. (Perhaps it happened the following year).
• The Visigoth king Leovigildo continues his campaign in the north, and attacks Cantabria, who had risen against the government of Toledo, defeating the cantabris. Leovigildo takes the city of Amaya and executes the entire senate of Hispanic landlords, one of which was called Abundancio. Cantabria remains under the domain of the Visigoths.
• King Miro of the Swedes sends ambassadors to the Frank King Gontran, but they are intercepted by the Frank King Chilperico I.
