Ilanramon. Asteroid no. 51828 of the series (2001 OU₃₉), discovered at Mount Palomar (California) on July 20, 2001 by Eleanor F. Helin, within the program NEAT (Near-Earth Astroid Tracking Program).-

Named in honor of Israeli Ilan Ramon, payload specialist on the space shuttle Columbia (NASA designation: STS-107), destroyed upon reentry into the atmosphere on February 1, 2003.-
