Mikeanderson. Asteroid no. 51824 of the series (2001 OE₃₀), discovered from Mount Palomar by Eleanor F. Helin within the NEAT (Near Earth Asteroid Tracking Program) program) on July 19, 2001.

Named in honor of Michael P. Anderson (1959-2003), payload commander on the space shuttle Columbia, which disintegrated upon reentry into the atmosphere on February 1, 2003.-
