Mikeanderson. Asteroid no. 51824 of the series (2001 OE30), discovered from Mount Palomar by Eleanor F. Helin within the NEAT (Near Earth Asteroid Tracking Program) program) on July 19, 2001.

Named in honor of Michael P. Anderson (1959-2003), payload commander on the space shuttle Columbia, which disintegrated upon reentry into the atmosphere on February 1, 2003.-
