Contenido The year 44 BC was either a common year beginning on a Sunday or Monday, or a leap year beginning on a Friday or Saturday (sources differ) of the Julian calendar (established the previous year).. It was also a common year beginning on a Sunday of the proleptic Julian calendar. At the time, it was known as the year of the consulship of Caesar and Antony (or less frequently, year 710 Ab Urbe condita). The 44 BC naming for this year has been used since the medieval period when the Anno Dominni calendar era made it the prevalent method of naming in Europe for years.
