29 (XXIX) was a common year beginning on a Saturday of the Julian calendar, in force on that date. In the Roman Empire, it was known as the Year of the Consulate of Geminus and Geminus (or less frequently, year 782 Ab urbe condita). The designation 29 for this year has been used since the early medieval period, when the A.D. era became the prevalent European method of naming years.
