• Caro, Prefect of the Pretoria, rises against Emperor Probo, taking advantage of his absence from Rome.
• Probo, Roman emperor, was killed by his soldiers in Sirmium after learning of Caro's uprising, using them as an excuse to order them to clean up the channels in Egypt.
• Caro, ilirio and prefect pretoriano becomes emperor; without the Senate confirmation.
