  • Near 1980 B.C.: the 12th dynasty of Egypt (second dynasty of the Middle Empire of Egypt), which would extend until the beginning of the 18th century B.C. The XII dynasty reorganizes the state, establishing a fierce administrative centralization. The Middle Empire arises after the first intermediate period of Egypt, which is after the Ancient Empire of Egypt.
  • 1990 B.C.: On the Greek peninsula, the average heladic period (Bronze Age) begins.
