(1998) Titius is an asteroid belonging to the asteroid belt discovered by Alfred Bohrmann on February 24, 1938 from the Heidelberg-Königstuhl observatory, Germany.

Designation and name

Titius was initially given the designation 1938 DX1. Later, it was named in honor of the German astronomer Johann Daniel Titius (1729-1796).

Orbital characteristics

Titius orbits at an average distance from the Sun of 2,419 AU, and can get as close as 2,265 AU. The eccentricity of it is 0.06385 and the orbital inclination 7.629°. It takes 1,374 days to complete one orbit around the Sun.
