(186) Celuta is an asteroid belonging to the asteroid belt discovered by Prosper Mathieu Henry on April 6, 1878 from the observatory in Paris, France. It is named after Celuta, a character in the novel René by the French writer François-René de Chateaubriand (1768-1848).

Orbital characteristics

Celuta orbits at an average distance from the Sun of 2,362 AU, being able to move away up to 2,716 AU and approach up to 2,008 AU. The eccentricity of it is 0.1497 and the orbital inclination 13.17°. It takes 1,326 days to complete one orbit around the Sun.
