(1814) Bach is an asteroid belonging to the asteroid belt discovered on October 9, 1931 by Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth from the Heidelberg-Königstuhl observatory, Germany.

Designation and name

Bach was originally designated 1931 TW1. It was later named after the German composer Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750).

Orbital characteristics

Bach is located at an average distance of 2,226 AU from the Sun, being able to move away up to 2,516 AU and get closer to 1,936 AU. It has an orbital inclination of 4.346° and an eccentricity of 0.1304. It takes 1,213 days to complete one orbit around the Sun.
