- April 29: Federico I de Prussia is elected ruler of the Duchy of Prussia. During his government, the Kingdom of Prussia, a unifying future of the German State will be established.
- May 17: The Siamese Revolution in Thailand is given with the coup d'etat against King Narai.
- June 5: A 7.0 terromoto shakes the Italian province of Benevento leaving 10,000 dead.
- 10 July: the Turkish city of Esmirna is shaken by an earthquake of 7.0 that leaves a balance of 16,000 dead.
- November: The Glorious Revolution begins in England where the Parliamentarians overthrow King James II.
- 24 November: Luis XIV de France publishes its manifesto Memoire de raisonswhich becomes an ultimatum for the rest of European countries. It required, among other things, to ratify the Tregua de Ratisbona and to recognize its right to the territory of its sister-in-law. These demands, seen as unacceptable by the rest of the powers, triggers the Nine Years War against Augsburg League.
- 26 November: French invasion of the Holy Roman German Empire, where the city of Philippsburg is besieged.
- 11 November: King James II of England flees to France. It establishes a provisional parliamentary government led by its nephew William III of Orange.
