(1644) Rafita is an asteroid belonging to the asteroid belt discovered by Rafael Carrasco Garrorena on December 16, 1935 from the Royal Observatory in Madrid, Spain.

Designation and name

Rafita was originally designated as 1935 YA. It was later named after one of the discoverer's sons.

Orbital characteristics

Rafita is located at an average distance of 2,548 ua from the Sun, being able to move away up to 2,944 ua and approach up to 2,153 ua. Its orbital inclination is 7.02° and its eccentricity is 0.1553. It takes 1,486 days to complete an orbit around the Sun.
