(162) Laurentia is an asteroid that is part of the asteroid belt and was discovered by Prosper Mathieu Henry from the observatory in Paris, France, on April 21, 1876. It is named after of the French astronomer Joseph Jean Pierre Laurent, discoverer of an asteroid.

Orbital characteristics

Laurentia orbits at an average distance of 3.019 AU from the Sun, being able to get as close as 2.48 AU and as far as 3.559 AU. The orbital inclination of it is 6.096° and the eccentricity 0.1787. It takes 1916 days to complete an orbit around the Sun.
