  • The Roman consuls pass to take possession of their charges in the kalendae January - 1st of January-, instead of the idus March - March 15- There is a "historic package" that also assigns the change of the beginning of the calendar year on this date, something that according to the Roman tradition had happened at the end of the century VIII a. C., during the reign of Numa Pompilio.
  • Roman Hispania: Celtish wars begin
    • A consul is sent annually to Hispania Citerior. This year was Quinto Fulvio Nobilior. The preture for the Hispania Ulterior was maintained, and Lucio Mumio was appointed. They come to the peninsula with some 60 000 men to suppress the Celtish rebellion.
    • Fulvio destroys Segeda and celtibers take refuge in Numancia
    • On August 23, consecrated to Vulcan, the Celtiberos cause 6000 casualties to the consul Quinto Fulvio Nobilior. In the future this date becomes an ominous day for the Romans.
