Events

• The Reconquest in Spain advances decisively. In Castile, Fernando III the Holy Conquest Cordoba, which was a caliph city to the Muslims in 1236; for his part, Jaime I the Conqueror obtained the surrender of Valencia in 1238 for the Crown of Aragon. The period of the Taifan kingdoms is completed, and will only survive from this decade, and until 1492, the Nasrid kingdom of Granada.
