Kappa or cappa (capitalized Κ, lowercase κ [italics ϰ]; called in ancient Greek κάππα káppa /káp.pa/, in Modern Greek κάπ(π)α káp(p)a /ˈka.pa/) is the tenth letter of the Greek alphabet.

You must differentiate the Greek letter kappa from its derivatives, such as the letter of the Latin alphabet, see K, and the letter of the Cyrillic alphabet, see К.

In the Greek numeral system it has a value of 20 (Κʹ).

Kappa is used in Greek for the same sound as its Latin equivalent, the ka, but in this language it is used more since it does not redound to C and Q as in the Latin alphabet.
