Eta (uppercase Η, lowercase η; Ancient Greek call ἦτα êta /ɛ̂ː.ta/, in modern Greek ήτα íta /ˈi.ta/) is the seventh letter of the Greek alphabet. Its pronunciation in ancient Greek was long e [e:], while in modern Greek it is pronounced [i] and is called ita (Ήτα). Its origin is the letter of the Phoenician alphabet ḥēt, and is in turn the origin of the Latin letter H and the Cyrillic letter И.

In the Greek numeral system it has a value of 8 (Η΄).
