La Fórmula Uno, abreviada como F1, es la categoría más alta de carreras de autos con ruedas abiertas definida por la Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), el organismo rector mundial del automovilismo. La "fórmula" en el nombre se refiere a un conjunto de reglas que todos los participantes y autos deben cumplir. Cada año se celebra la temporada del Campeonato Mundial de F1. Consiste en una serie de carreras, conocidas como Grandes Premios, que se celebran normalmente en circuitos especialmente construidos y, en algunos casos, en calles cerradas de la ciudad. Fernando Alonso ha participado en más Grandes Premios que nadie (380) y también ostenta el récord. para la mayor cantidad de largadas en Grandes Premios (377). El Reino Unido es el país más representado, con 163 conductores. Diez países han estado representados por uno solo.
