El multiverso oscuro
The Dark Multiverse hizo su debut en DC ' S Dark Nights: Metal Banner. Al final de " crisis en Infinite Earths ", se creó un nuevo multiverso, en particular fusionando la Tierra-1, Earth-38, la Tierra de Black Lightning en el nuevo Prime Earth, así como creando nuevas tierras, o restaurando otros. Guggenheim también confirmó que los personajes de Smallville que existían en la Tierra anterior-167 sobrevivieron. Guggenheim había querido que solo fuera el nuevo y nuevo Earth-Prime que permaneció al final del crossover, pero si eso hubiera sucedido, el crossover no habría podido visitar los mundos de otras propiedades de DC. Transmultiversal multiverso
