El Abierto de Irlanda fue un torneo de tenis en pista dura fundado en 1879 con el nombre de Campeonato de Irlanda, un importante torneo de tenis de finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX. Se disputó en el Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club de Dublín, Irlanda. Historia

El Campeonato Irlandés se celebró por primera vez en junio de 1879, dos años después del inicio de Wimbledon. Se celebró inicialmente en Pembroke Place, Dublín, hasta 1880, cuando se trasladó a Wilton Place, donde permaneció hasta 1902. En 1903, el torneo se trasladó de nuevo, esta vez a Fitzwilliam Square. El torneo cambió su nombre a Abierto de Irlanda en 1972 y se trasladó de nuevo a la Vía Apia de Dublín, donde permaneció durante toda su existencia. El torneo se ha disputado en múltiples superficies a lo largo de su historia. Los dos primeros años (1879-1880) se disputaron en pista dura. Se disputó en hierba (1881-1939). De 1946 a 1965, se disputó en tierra batida, y volvió a disputarse en hierba desde 1966 hasta su finalización.
