The Unitary State as a Structure of State

Por: Anavitarte, E. J.*

The unitary state is a form of territorial organization, in which the origin of political power resides in the nation, and therefore, there is only one legitimate authority that represents it: the central state.

Being this central state, the only structure of sovereign power in the entire territory of the state, and therefore the only one capable of exercising jurisdiction and territorial representation. Therefore, there is only one legal system, a unified body of public forces, a hierarchical scheme in the exercise of political power, etc.

Because it is sovereign, any form of internal territorial distribution is subsequent to the existence of the state, and dependent on it; therefore, every sub-state entity is essentially an administrative division made by the state, over which it can exercise its own sovereignty.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English.
